The Miami Marlins just do not seem to be able to keep anything remotely close to a winning streak, the team drops game one to the Boston Red Sox 4-3. The Marlins waste another outing by pitcher Dan Haren who today thru a gem going six inning giving up one run, one walk and striking out five.
The game was a stalemate thru the first six innings quite a pitching duel between both clubs, but the marlins just seem to have the same narrative game after game, fight hard to stay in the ballgame but in the end the team unravels.
The Miami Marlins had every chance to win this game heading into the seventh leading 3-1, but in the bottom of the seventh with one out Third Baseman Miguel Rojas committed an untimely error which loaded the bases, which then was followed by Boston's Xander Bogarts single that scored three to take the lead 4-3 and the Red Sox never looked back with the Bullpen shutting the door.
If there is a bright spot in a loss, is the fact that Christian Yelich is definitely swinging the bat better today going three for four with two RBI's and I will throw in as an honorable mention young right fielder Cole Gillespie going two for four with an RBI.
The Miami Marlins (Tom Koehler) and Boston Red Sox(Rick Porcello) will square off again tomorrow at 7pm.
