Phillies Take Game Two Against The Marlins

The Miami Marlins sent out pitcher Kendry Morales for his first big league start taking over for the injured David Phelps. Flores has seen better days, losing today going five innings, giving up five earned runs, walked two and struck out five.

The marlin bats were quiet tonight not mustering much offense to speak of, the bright spot for the team was the continued hot month of August for outfielder Ichiro Suzuki adding two hits today, Derek Dietrich adding the lone run for the team with a homerun in the seventh and the continued improvement of first baseman Justin Bour with two hits.

The Philadelphia Phillies sent to the mound rookie pitcher Jerad Eickhoff who had a solid game going six innings, allowing zero runs, walked one and struck out five. The Phillies accumulated eleven hits, while the line up spread the hits around nicely, especially first baseman Ryan Howard with three hits and two runs batted in.

The marlins dropped game two of a four game series tonight 7-1, tomorrow the Miami Marlins will send to the mound Justin Nicolino in game three, the Phillies will send Aaron Harang.
